Everything riders ask us before their first Dubai session, plus the policies that apply to every booking.
Do I need experience or special fitness?+
No experience needed — many riders come to us having never flown a kite. You should be comfortable swimming in open water. Kitesurfing relies on technique far more than strength.
What happens if there's no wind?+
Every booking starts as Pending Wind Confirmation. We review conditions for your preferred date and confirm with you before you travel. If conditions are unsuitable or unsafe we reschedule free of charge, or refund you where rescheduling isn't possible.
What is a time window instead of a fixed time?+
You choose Morning, Afternoon or Flexible – Best Wind. Flexible gives us the freedom to place your session in the best conditions of the day, which is usually the best experience.
Can I book for two people or a small group?+
Yes. Discovery, Intermediate, Independent Rider and the Complete Kitesurfing Course are available semi-private for 2 or 3–4 people, priced per person. The Friends & Family Pack is a 3-hour Discovery session for two.
Is gear included?+
Every lesson package includes a kite sized to your weight and the wind, board, harness, helmet and impact vest. Just bring swimwear, sunscreen and water.
How do I pay?+
Online payment isn't enabled yet. You choose a 50% deposit or pay in full while booking, and we confirm payment details with you when your session is wind-confirmed. Prices include VAT.
Can I rent equipment without a lesson?+
Rentals are available for advanced, competent riders and are request based — we verify your riding level and the conditions before approving a rental.
Do you offer certification?+
We focus on coaching you to ride safely and independently. We don't currently advertise any certification with our packages.
Policies
The rules we ride by
Clear, simple terms so you know exactly where you stand before your session.
- Wind & weather rescheduling
- Every booking starts as Pending Wind Confirmation. If conditions are unsuitable or unsafe we reschedule your session free of charge, and offer a refund where rescheduling isn't possible.
- Deposit & payment
- A 50% deposit secures your booking once online payments are enabled, and you can also choose to pay in full. Prices include VAT.
- Cancellation & rescheduling
- Free cancellation or rescheduling 24 hours or more before your session. Within 24 hours the deposit is non-refundable.
- No-show
- If you don't arrive for a confirmed session the deposit is forfeited.
- Late arrival
- Sessions still end at the scheduled finish time, so arriving late shortens your time on the water.
- Package validity
- Multi-hour packages are valid for 6 months from the date of purchase.
- Safety
- Your instructor may stop, shorten or reschedule a session at any time for safety reasons, and their decision on the water is final.
- Swimming ability
- You should be comfortable swimming in open water and confident in the sea.
- Minors
- Participants under 18 require parent or guardian consent. Minimum age is confirmed with us before booking.
- Waiver
- You acknowledge the risks of kitesurfing and accept our participation terms when booking. Final waiver wording is pending review and is signed with your instructor before your first session.
Wind & weather policy
All sessions depend on suitable wind and weather conditions. Wind & Wave may reschedule a session when conditions are unsuitable or unsafe — weather-related rescheduling is always free of charge, and we confirm conditions with you before you travel to the beach.
